【採訪通知】2024 ICERD 首次國家報告國際審查 會後民間記者會

ICERD首次國家報告國際審查會,在審查委員會發布結論性意見後正式結束。ICERD是最早對我國產生拘束力的聯合國九大核心人權公約,但卻是對已具國內法律拘束力六部公約中最晚展開國家報告國際審查工作的公約。
參與本屆審查民間團體將在結論意見發表記者會後,移師到行政院門口召開民間會後記者會,就我國首次辦理ICERD國家報告國際審查討論過程與甫發表的結論性意見,從原住民族、移工、難民、跨國同婚、司法通譯與人權機制等不同角度,發表民間團體的觀察、回應與表達意見。

Civil Society Holds a Press Briefing on the Concluding Observations of the Taiwan’s Initial Report under the ICERD

◆Venue: Main Entrance of Taiwan’s Executive Yuan (Intersection of Zhongxiao E. Rd. and Zhongshan N. Rd.)
Taiwan has concluded its Initial National Report Review under The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) after the International Review Committee released its concluding observations. The ICERD is one of the earliest 9 United Nations core human rights conventions that came into effect in Taiwan; however, it is the latest among the 6 international human rights conventions that are domestically binding to undergo its first national report review.
After the conclusion of the official press conference on the concluding observations, civil society organisations participating in this year’s review will relocate to the entrance of the Executive Yuan to hold a press briefing. During this briefing, representatives from Taiwan’s civil society will comment on the process of Taiwan’s first-ever ICERD review as well as its Concluding Observations, and share remarks, responses, and perspectives from various angles on human rights mechanisms, rights of indigenous peoples, migrant workers, and refugees.
