原住民族權利
近年來，原住民族權利在國際上逐漸獲得更多重視和發展，而2007年由聯合國大會通過的《聯合國原住民族權利宣言》（UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples）是原住民族權利在國際人權法上的重大里程碑之一。
儘管在聯合國尚未有專門的原住民族權利的人權公約，但在聯合國也下設專門機制，如：原住民族權利特別報告員（Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples）、原住民族權利專家機制（Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples，EMRIP），對於國際上原族民族的處境和其權利進行研究，並向聯合國人權理事會跟大會提出建議。
